A 2.8L MPFI V6 engine was obtained from a 1987 Beretta for this swap.  This engine is equipped with the 3.33 ratio 125-C Transaxle.  The Citation was also equipped with the 125-C transaxle, therefore, no CV axle modifications are necessary.

First intentions were to use the Beretta wiring harness in the Citation, but after much review, it was tossed in favor of a 1987 Chevrolet Celebrity wiring harness, which more closely matches to location of various components in the Citation

Jason pressure washing the engine bay of the Citation

. . . .Still at it

The 2.5L had spilled most of it's contents of oil and transmission fluid all over the engine bay and cradle

There are various external differences between the Beretta 2.8L MPFI and the Celebrity 2.8L MPFI, therefore, components from a Celebrity 2.8L MPFI will be swapped onto the Beretta engine to assist in fitting in the Citation engine bay.  The Citation and Celebrity are directly related, but the Beretta is related only to it's sibling Chevrolet Corsica.

The Beretta does not use a torque strut to control engine movement, but the Citation/Celebrity design calls for the torque strut.  Also, the rear exhaust manifold on the Beretta engine will be removed in favor of the Celebrity manifold

The metal portions of the heater hoses are pre-attached to the 2.8L MPFI

In Jason's garage, there is the luxury of air tools, although I still prefer manual tools just for the "feel" of it.

The rear transaxle mount from the OEM 2.5L powertrain is moved to the Beretta transaxle

...As well as the front transaxle mount
