The 3800 Series II Supercharged V6 engine arrives. To eliminate the restrictions found in the 1996-up PCMs (OBDII), I will be using a PCM from a 94/95 3800 V6 vehicle along with a custom wiring harness prepared by myself. Using the 94/95 PCM, I can eliminate the speed and rev limiters, change shift points, alter spark timing, compensate for tire size, and remove the Passkey anti-theft system from the chip before installation.

Visually inspecting the Series II 3800 Supercharged engine shows a number of differences between the Series I and Series II engines. The Series II has notably larger exhaust ports at each cylinder output, although the outlet is the same in the rear of the engine.

The Series II 3800SC also has a much larger throttle body, even though the one found on the Series I was FAR from small. Other differences include dual knock sensors, a larger supercharger (Series I has an Eaton M62, Series II has an Eaton M90), and equally spaced exhaust ports on the heads

A more detailed examination shows the fuel rails on the Series II cross OVER the supercharger. The EGR valve on the Series II has also been relocated to the rear of the engine. The supercharger's nose drive assembly is much longer on the Series II. Also, the increased width of the Series II's supercharger has caused the fuel injectors to be moved to the cylinder heads, versus in the intake manifold on the Series I

Pictured here: My garage full of 3800SC Series II engines. One engine (under plastic tarp) has only 3,000 miles on it and will be installed in a friend's car. The 3800SC with the "supercharger cover" installed is an engine in which the starter boss was damaged in a wreck. The Supercharger and fuel system from THAT engine will be moved to the 3,000 mile engine located under the plastic tarp.

Beautiful, isn't it !?!?

Inside the 3800SC Series II: A centrally mounted balance shaft keeps the engine silky smooth throughout the powerband

Check out the size of those bearings on the balance shaft... !?!?

Roller Rockers ensure high end performance

This is as heavy duty as it gets !!

To ensure even more performance, my supercharger and throttle body will be sent to a local performance shop for porting and polishing. This modification alone is good for an additional 35 horsepower. The engine is already rated at 240HP / 280TQ stock.
